Workshop: discussing the measurement challenges in electric and hybrid vehicles and aircraft
Date and time
Location
National Physical Laboratory
Hampton Road Teddington TW11 0LW United KingdomDescription
Join us at our free workshop which will bring together keynote speakers from the automotive and aerospace industry to share, explore and identify their electrical powertrain technology roadmaps.
As part of our support for Electric and Hybrid vehicles, NPL is developing a funding strategy to address measurement challenges within this field. The Strategy will be published in a report available to all stakeholders who attend the workshop.
Topics of discussion:
- Electrical machines
- Power electronics and drives
- Power distribution
- Magnetic, electronic and thermal materials
Please note, energy storage will not be covered in this workshop
Who should attend:
Experienced engineers, technical leaders and technical representatives in industry or RTOs with insight into current and future measurement challenges.
NPL are dedicated to work with UK industry on current and future measurement needs and their solutions, including:
- Verification of new products, components and materials intended to operate under extremely demanding lifecycles
- Accurate characterisation of material properties under a wide range of conditions to improve modelling, design and material selection
- Innovation in the use of sensors and data both for prototyping and in-service health monitoring and management.
Synopsis:
Measurement science is crucial to all stages of product development and manufacturing. Applications range from understanding material performance under harsh conditions to helping an SME work with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to verify an innovative product and gain entry to the supply chain.
Invitation to contribute to the discussion:
NPL will produce a public report based on the outcome of this consultation, with first sight and the opportunity to comment on the draft report offered to those who take part. This report will form the basis for strategic decisions on future projects and funding.
If you are unable to attend, but would still like to participate in the consultation, please pass your details to us so that we may consult you remotely.
